Instructions for Ogg Vorbis Playback
If you have never heard of Ogg Vorbis before, you may be asking why this format was chosen instead of the more popular MP3 format to present the sermons of Bible Baptist Church. Much information is available from the Ogg Vorbis Homepage and the Ogg Vorbis Frequently Asked Questions. In short, Ogg Vorbis provides a higher quality for comparable size and is completely free software and not encumbered by any patents.
Unfortunately, the most popular operating system (Microsoft Windows), does not include support for Ogg Vorbis files by default. However, there are many free media programs which support Ogg Vorbis. We recommend the VLC Media Player. This player works on Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac OS X, Linux and a variety of other operating systems. Please follow the steps below:
- Download the VLC Media Player.
- Install VLC.
- Download the sermon you would like to hear and play it.
